About Our Shows
Marilyn and Martin spend countless hours in
their studio building their entire show. They hand-crafted the stage with
a charm from long ago; they build delightful scenery and props to set the
mood for each adventure; they hand-make all of the puppets in exquisite
detail; they arrange the music to enhance and accompany the stories that
they have researched, developed and adapted from famous fairy tales (with
input from several teachers and a professional psychologist). Together,
they have created a magical “World of Enchantment”.
And here, in this Magical World, through the use of their original fairy
tales, they invite children to experience, without violence, the lessons
of living…. dramatically brought to life through the Arts of Puppetry and
Music.
As Dr. Bruno Bettelheim, the famous child psychologist wrote, “The form
and structure of fairy tales suggest images to the child by which he can
structure his daydreams and with them give better direction to his life”.

Each of the performances take the audience on a magical puppet adventure,
where they explore themes that promote and encourage good character
behaviors such as; friendship, honesty, trust, responsibility, loyalty,
perseverance, kindness, tolerance, compassion, courage, believing in one’s
self, treating others’ as you would like to be treated, citizenship and
the importance of reading.
When puppets solve ‘real life’ problems, they, like fairy tales, “offer a
new dimension to children’s’ imaginations which would be impossible for
them to discover as truly on their own.” *
All of the shows feature large, colorful, finely crafted hand and rod
puppets, performed masterfully and accompanied by incredible live piano
and synthesizer music performed with enthusiastic stage presence. |
